Rotate iPhone from horizontal to vertical Moment closes

It seems to me that an update a few months ago has made Moment a bit more inconvenient to use. This is the scenario: Holding my iPhone with the camera pointing at the ground. I swipe to get the control centre (I have moment there to replace the Apple camera app). I click the Moment app and it springs into action. I then hold the iPhone up and point the camera at the landscape. As I do this Moment closes and I am left wing a blank screen. This is so annoying. Mainly because I have to point the phone, then start the Moment app. It’s a small thing in the grand scheme, but the apple camera app doesn’t do this? Anyone else notice this?
