I have another feature idea that I think could be really useful: a locked Auto Exposure mode.
What I’m imagining is essentially “one slider to rule them all.” 😁
Instead of manually controlling Shutter Speed and ISO separately, there could be a single Exposure slider that simply controls how bright or dark I want the image to be.
For example:
← Darker | Exposure | Brighter →
I don’t need to decide whether the camera should achieve that exposure by changing the shutter speed or ISO. Moment would handle that automatically based on its own exposure algorithm.
For example, if I move the slider toward the right, Moment could decide:
“Okay, I’ll use 1/50 + ISO 400.”
And if I move it further:
“Okay, I’ll use 1/33 + ISO 640.”
The important part is that the resulting exposure should then be locked. I don’t want it to continuously readjust itself afterward like normal Auto Exposure.
So the concept would be:
I control the desired brightness → Moment decides the optimal shutter + ISO combination → exposure stays locked.
It would be similar to the exposure adjustment slider on an iPhone, but instead of tapping on the viewfinder and adjusting exposure compensation, it would be a dedicated slider that works more like your existing Shutter/ISO controls.
I’m not sure whether this would be best implemented as a new exposure mode or in another way, but I think it could be a really nice-to-have feature.
If you could make something like this happen, I’d definitely love to see it! 😁✌️
